Dear all,
Is it necessary to have a sponsor for all dental continuing education seminars ?
Will it not be better if we have continuing education seminars without any sponsor.
The quality of the continuing education will be much better if we have the seminar without any sponsor.
Please let me have your views.

It all depends on the person presenting the seminar. I guess the profit margin would come down if you dont rope in sponsors. The materials and equipments have to be arranged by the organiser or the participants may have to bear an extra cost if asked to arrange for themselves. There is competition here also and all organisers try to give the best at lower cost.
it is difficult to get impartial speakers if sponsors are involved. the quality of CE ic compromised if sponsors are involved altho the price may come down

an average chartered accountant earns more than an average dentist. the update meetings of the local chartered accountants society is held in the local school and there are no sponsors. The faster the dentists realize that they must pay for their own CE the better it is fro them

Today participants are not just interested in the topics but also the speaker and the hands-on and goodies provided to them,,, for this it would be necessary to get good sponsors
An easy way for you to share and discuss dentistry and more...
It wont be agreeable to compare our CE s with those of CAs for obvious reasons.Mainly our field is one requiring lot of investment and revolves completely around materials and newer techniques which invariably requires money...noone would want to put money where there are no profitable retutrns sadly this is the conditon nowadays,.
So to stay in the rat race.....
