GENEVA, Switzerland/NEW DELHI, India: Last week, the FDI World Dental Federation announced that its 102nd Annual World Dental Congress will be held in New Delhi from 11 to 14 September next year. The event will be organised in collaboration with the Indian Dental Association.
In anticipation of this year’s congress, which will be hosted by the Turkish Dental Association in Istanbul, the FDI World Dental Federation has disclosed the venue for the event next year. Exactly ten years after the congress took place in New Delhi in 2004, the event will be hosted by the FDI and its national member, the Indian Dental Association.
“Today, India is a land of opportunity in dentistry: awareness of oral health is on the increase and access to care is widening rapidly. This is good news for the country’s dentists, its burgeoning dental industry and the success of the 2014 congress,” said Dr Pramod Gurav, President of the Indian Dental Association.
The association currently has over 50,000 members and operates through 28 state branches, more than 350 local branches and 1 defence branch. It aims to achieve optimal oral health for every Indian by 2020.
